ETHICAL NON-MONOGAMY DISCUSSION GROUP

This discussion group is open to anyone who is curious about or already active in a consensual non-monogamous (ENM) lifestyle including open relationships, swinging, multiple D/s dynamics, and polyamory (hierarchical, non-hierarchical, solo poly...)

Struggles in ENM relationships often grow out of unclear expectations, passive communication, and a resistance to being accountable for your own emotions. This group is intended to be a resource for understanding and participating in these lifestyles from an emotionally healthy lens, for exorcising mononormative cultural conditioning, and ultimately engaging in personal growth. Expect to be challenged on issues of codependence, boundaries v rules, radical honesty, and others.

Every horror movie has the same lesson: the thing you refuse to look at is the thing that gets you. This October, we’re looking.

Ethical non-monogamy comes with real fears, and most of us carry them quietly. What if they like someone else better? What if I’m the only one having a hard time? What if opening up breaks something we can’t fix? This month, we’re dragging those fears into the candlelight, where they tend to look a lot smaller.

What we’ll get into

Things that go bump in the night. The fears that keep us up: being replaced, being left behind, being “too much” or “not enough.” We’ll sort the ones that are trying to tell you something from the ones that are just rattling chains.

Bad ghouls. Everyone has met one. The date who “forgot” to mention their partner didn’t know. The couple with rules that only applied to you. The charmer who was all trick and no treat. Bring your tales of red flags you spotted, and the ones you spotted three months too late.

Patty, who’s diving into the depths of psychology, loves unpacking relationship dynamics and the magic of meaningful connections. Jon is equally passionate about fostering trust, communication, and an inclusive space where people can be their most authentic selves. Together, they support sex positivity, LGBTQIA+ advocacy, and the belief that honesty, respect, and a dash of fun make for the best conversations.
